How is payment made?
By bank transfer, or at Globally Speaking by credit or debit card. € 500 deposit is payable upon acceptance to secure your place on the course. The remaining € 850 is due within three weeks before the course start date. For bank details, click here.
What happens before I’m accepted on a TYLEC course?
Before you are invited for an interview, you will be asked to complete a written task. This will include a focus on language awareness as well as consideration of other issues related to teaching English. If this written task shows that you have the appropriate level of English and the potential to develop the skills needed to pass the course, you will be invited to an interview.
Do I need to have teaching experience before I start a TYLEC course?
If you decide to enrol for TYLEC – Teaching Young Learners Extension Certificate in Rome, Italy, you are required to have a previous teaching qualification (Level 5 EFQ) and some teaching experience is recommended.
What is the TYLEC course content?
There are two key units.
Unit 1 focusses on
- The Learning Environment
- TESOL Methodology
- Guided Observation
- Teaching Practice
- Language Awareness & Skills
Unit 2 focusses on
How is the course assessed?
Participants must pass the assignments for all unit components, including the materials assignment which is assessed by a Trinity moderator. There will also be observed teaching practice and a reflective written assignment.
TYLEC in Rome, Italy. What support will I receive?
Highly qualified TYLEC tutors will offer support to participants throughout the course. During the course, they will be available for consultation and at least one face-to-face tutorial.
Globally Speaking will offer candidates support in suggesting language schools worldwide who are recruiting qualified teachers.
